Greetings,

The psychologically related symptoms arising from or related to sexual abuse or rape trauma  can cause various emotional reactions and have significantly
affected many of  those individual's ability for high level functioning, social interaction, communication and the general pursuit of happiness.

Frequently, people get depressed and/or suicidal and  have anxiety reactions due to the traumas and related circumstances arising from sexual abuse and/or rape.

It is our belief that most everyone may benefit from individual counseling and psychotherapy to develop greater insights for learning more about oneself and for reduction of symptoms and stabilization.

In my view, the counseling process should stimulate new coping mechanisms that are important to a sense of well being and so forth.

On the other hand, psychotherapy is a more targeted treatment of a symptom, issue or problem utilizing a variety of scientific principles and techniques with the goal of inducing a change in thinking  or behavior or for the reduction of those symptoms towards stabilization and beyond.

Oftentimes, people utilize a variety of coping methods that may or may not be adaptive from time to time.Sometimes people self medicate as a coping method and thus can further complicate matters for various physical and psychological reasons and sometimes require detoxification under medical supervision.

In the past, many other's have already attempted counseling, psychotherapy and medicines and have become more discouraged, hopeless and/or even suicidal.

Obviously, durring these times of crisis, it is generally not advisable to attempt to make important life or death decisions, since confusion agitation, anxiety and severe depression are amongst the symptoms that can interfere with proper thinking or decision making processes after sexual abuse or rape trauma.
